Atelier Van Lieshout
Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL) is the studio founded by Rotterdam-based sculptor and visionary Joep van Lieshout (1963). Since its establishment in 1995, Van Lieshout has worked exclusively under this name to challenge the myth of the individual artistic genius. Atelier Van Lieshout has gained international recognition for its sculptural installations that both affirm and question independence. Over the years, this body of work has been characterized by the invention of objects, structures, machines, and thematic bodies of work that exist at the intersection of art, architecture, and design, with each piece serving as an experiment in 'what could be.' What these works have in common are several recurring themes, such as systems, power, sex, and life and death. This year, AVL celebrates 40 years of artistry.

'Three Birds'
This monumental sculpture symbolises success, with three powerful animals representing key traits: Wisdom (owl), Opportunism (vulture), and Strength/Endurance (eagle). Together, they form the golden egg, the ultimate symbol of success.
